I accept then far attempted to uninstall three separate devices by using the Device Managing director and selecting to uninstall the device. (USB 3.0 controller, External Keyboard, and internal SD Card reader). The result is the same. The window comes upwards with the Uninstalling Device window with a sweeping green bar and... that'southward it. Information technology will remain that way forever. I left it overnight the first fourth dimension, and came back to information technology just the same in the forenoon.
This is an easily reproducible problem for me. I but have to endeavour to uninstall whatever device listed in Device Managing director and it happens.
I have restarted the reckoner several times. The result remains the same when trying to uninstall a device.
I have tried with my anti-virus disabled, as suggested vaguely by other back up search results. This has yielded no positive outcome.
I contacted Microsoft's Live support and the chat yielded no solution except to teach me what to strength quit in Task Manager to get rid of the hung Uninstalling Device window. The agent told me the solution would vary by device, but when every device yields the same problem I disagree, however, I do not have the money to subscribe to their additional back up service tiers.
I am running Windows 10 Pro 64-fleck on a Lenovo Y510P, which has been a terrible calculator every footstep of the mode.

@stuffwhy
Generally the Device Manager is used to supplant or update device drivers, not to uninstall devices. If the device is a plug and play device just remove information technology physically from the computer and your washed. You specifically mentioned a keyboard and a carte reader, if yous physically disconnect these they will be uninstalled. You don't need to use the Device Manager for anything if this is what you lot are attempting to accomplish.

Thanks for your respond. However, my concerns are as follow:
1) the card reader is internal, so I cannot disconnect information technology in any way that I am aware of, also disassembling the computer.
2) this beliefs of hanging on uninstallation is my computer not functioning properly, and I'd similar to discover some way to fix it, although the method for fixing anything nowadays seems to be either restoring or fully wiping and redoing the computer, which I find really excessive. (This was actually the solution I was given by Microsoft themselves for an issue with Search, which I really felt should take been fixable).

Unfortunately in that location are those that will accept the like shooting fish in a barrel out and suggest reinstalling the operating organization rather than taking the time to help you lot repair what ever has gone amiss.
What is the make and model of this estimator?
What specifically are you trying to uninstall and how are you attempting to uninstall it?

Indeed. The piece of cake out is ever more common.
This is a Lenovo Y510p.
I am trying to remove the driver for the internal SD carte reader and reinstall information technology, as it has stopped working in the past twenty-four hour period or 2 with no precipitating upshot at all.

I have not, as Lenovo does not provide one for Windows ten. Someone, likely Microsoft? has provided one, because the reader has functioned until approximately yesterday.
It turns out running the provided installer for 8.1 hangs on old device removal. Which is odd, because it is not direct going through Device Manager. It widens the telescopic of 'no device existence removable' now.
I exercise call up now though, the just change that has happened to the estimator has been the removal of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware free (via the Add/Remove programs) simply that can't maybe have anything to exercise with this can it?
